     Anchor and Hope is seeking a server . The right candidate must have the ability to genuinely interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner. This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic personality, the experience to work well under pressure, and the ability to make instant decisions in the dining room. Anchor and Hope values technical service skills as well as creating positive guest experiences. Therefore, a minimum of 2 years experience in a fine dining restaurant environment is a must as well as working knowledge of wine and beer. 

    Established in 2008 by Town Hall and Salt House owners Doug Washington and brothers Mitchell and Steven Rosenthal, Anchor and Hope has been an integral part of the ever-evolving South of Market district for over a decade. We are located in a renovated 100 year old brick building, formerly the art studio of sculptor Benny Bufano. Anchor & Hope offers the warmth of an Eastern Seaboard fish house with dishes such as warm sea urchin served in the shell, our lobster roll, and petrale sole.... And yes, there are dishes for those who fear the sea! Our international wine list and hand-crafted beer selection is curated by award-winning Sommelier Haley Guild Moore.

     Established in 2006 by Town Hall and Anchor & Hope owners Doug Washington and brothers Mitchell and Steven Rosenthal, Salt House has been an integral part of the ever-evolving South of Market district for over a decade. Salt House offers a Contemporary American menu with international flair, highlighting Executive Chef Evan Gotanda’s focus on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients along with his background in Asian, French and Italian cuisine. To complete the Salt House experience is Bar Manager Gabe Cothes’s award-winning cocktail program and an international wine list curated by award-winning Sommelier Haley Guild Moore.

     Located in an old printing press established in the 1890s, the building’s beautifully exposed brick, high ceilings, raw fixtures and warm lighting create a unique ambience for diners. On the mezzanine level of the dining room is a 168-square foot, semi-private, open air loft that provides a perfect cozy, yet lively space for intimate group dining experiences.

Server / Floor Sommelier

     Salt House is seeking a Server / Floor Sommelier. This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic personality, the experience to work well under pressure, and the ability to make instant decisions in the dining room. Responsibilities will include table service as well as selling wine throughout the restaurant during dinner service, maintaining the cellar, and staff education. The right candidate must have extensive wine knowledge, the experience to communicate in an approachable manner, and have a genuine interest in sharing their love for wine. A minimum of 2 years experience as a server in a fine dining restaurant environment is required. This is an ideal position for someone looking to enter the wine world without the heavy administrative burdens.
